INSADONG
This area is known for their cultural arts and crafts, cafes, and souvenier shops that a lot of tourists go for. I was able to get a music box and an assortment of knick knacks to bring home as gifts for my family. The cafes in this area do fill up quickly, so be sure to reserve a spot on the waitlist.
GYEONGBOKGUNG PALACE/VILLAGE
One of the exciting things you can do here is wear a Hanbok (traditional attire). If you enter the palace wearing one, you get free admission into the palace. There's shops all round the area to rent a hanbok. You rent it by the hour, but be mindful that it does eat up time to take photos and walk around the area, so be conscious of that. For women they even style/braid your hair. It was an exciting event to learn more about Korean culture through the glimpse of a Hanbok.
LOTTE WORLD + EVERLAND
There are two main amusement parks available in Korea. One being Lotte World and the other being Everland. The defining difference between the two would have to be that Lotte is like a replica of Disney land with the park's own animated characters. They have an indoor area with rides mostly for children and an outdoor area that also has rides, in combination with a lot of photo areas near the front. You also have the option of renting a school uniform that is usually the culture to wear throughout the park. With the energy being that students normally come to visit the amusement park. They also customize the park in conjunction with the seasons, so when I went in October, the park transformed into a really festive Halloween Town. Everland is more nature oriented with their mascots still being animals (not as animated), but the rides are a bit more for adults in the form of more thrilling drop rollercoasters. When I went in December the theme park turned into this beautiful Christmas Town, me and my friends even got to sled on snow at a booth.
NAMI ISLAND
A small reserve that features a tranquil park, looming folliage, and scenery from where the K-Drama "Winter Sonata" was filmed. A unique aspect on traveling to this island would have to be the ferry or Zip Ride involved after reaching the area. Hopping onto the ferry really set the mood of traveling to a mini get away that reflects the different season that Seoul has to offer. I went during more towards the summer time when the leaves were still "new leaf". Overall it was a nice change-up from the urban city lights and enjoy the fresh air.
